Annachiara Marcandalli is the Head of European Sustainability and Impact at Cambridge Associates. She also leads the firm’s Italian business.
Annachiara joined the firm in 2000 and has 25 years of investing and impact experience. She invests for UK and European clients with assets ranging from $400 million to $4 billion. Several of these clients are pursuing ambitious sustainability and impact investing strategies for their portfolios, ranging from fossil divestment, impact investing carve outs, and net zero carbon portfolio targets.
Annachiara chairs the firm’s Sustainability and Impact Executive Team, a cross-practice group that drives strategy and portfolio implementation in this area. Previously, she served as Co-Head of the European Endowment & Foundation Practice. She is a frequent speaker at UK and European client and industry conferences and regularly contributes to firm research on sustainability trends and strategies.
Annachiara is also the executive sponsor for CA Women, the firm’s employee resource group dedicated to cultivating an inclusive culture for women.
Outside of Cambridge Associates, Annachiara serves on the fundraising Advisory Committee for L’Arche UK.
Prior to joining the firm, Annachiara was in the investment banking division of Lazard & Freres Italy. She also worked for Sunguard in London, specializing in risk management for complex portfolios.
Annachiara received her MBA from Yale University and her MA in Economics, cum laude, from Università Commerciale L. Bocconi in Milan, Italy. She is a CFA® charterholder.
